" sissychan said: It looks so awesome!!! :D How much fabric did you use? I have some fabric that I think would be absolutely gorgeous for yukata"

i always buy my ideal kimono length x 3… 1. Back. 2. Front/back panels. 3.Sleeves.

So for this yukata… 50” x 3 = 150” = a little over 4 yds.. It’s always best to have a little more fabric of course.

Boo Yea!
Ok there I suppose my yukata base is complete for today. I want to embellish it a little bit with embroidery or add a few touches of color. But it’s wearable in it’s current state.
I’ve sewn a cotton print pattern onto a black cotton fabric.
I would love to experiment more with making kimonos in all sorts of other colors.. if i ever find the ideal fabrics.

Here comes June!

The Good News
I think we finally finished signing all the documents to make the house ours. I don’t even know what I should be waiting for? But Heeeey.. the garden looks awesome. I may actually be moved in by.. the end of summer. (Perfect weather for a Housewarming BBQ!)

I’ve also been digging around the house to find stuff to sell! Stay tuned for more epic items for sale at dirt cheap prices. I totally need to save money, sell a bunch of stuff i’ll never use and lessen the financial burdens of adulthood. My closets are filled to the brim with really awesome quality stuff that needs a home. (Btw I don’t sell junk!)

The Arghhh News
I’ve got way too many things to do this month so I am officially halting production on cosplays until after Anime Expo. There’s a baby shower, a wedding, a co-op project from stikydiljoe.com, a Super Street magazine competition and Anime Expo and I’m sure a bunch of other stuff I have to fill in on my planner…

The Battle Approaches…
June will be all about preparing K’s car for competition by June 21st. This will be the 3rd competition for K’s car. His car keeps getting invited to come back..

What’s argh about this is that we have a wedding the day of the competition.. so we hired our usual buddy driver to drive it (maybe we should call him our official driver. lol.) I’m sure most of our free June nights will be spent prepping cars at the shop.. so I’ll probably not be online very often.

Applekat To Do List:
1. Parts for my car arrive from Japan (x.x)-$ goodbye money.. $XXX
2. I have some Spring spider evictions to do as they’re all camping in her. (Brown widows Vs Daddy Long Legs)
3. an overdue oil change
4. The gasoline is probably separated since it’s been in there since August 2005. I’ll have to cruise the freeway slowly until its all gone

My downtimes I relax, ignore my phone and try to gather myself so i don’t break…

The sprinklers were on in the front yard yesterday and I was standing by the side gate curiously inspecting the sprinkler shooting awkwardly at face level.

Mini (the Yorkie terrier) and dad arrive at the house. Plump little Mini leads dad right through sprinklers to say hello. His little stumpy tail wagging and smilng with his eyes squinted. It doesn’t even phase him as he’s walking through a spray of water you would find at a car wash. He just kept on trucking! He’s such a silly little dog. Ha ha! Soggy Doggy!!

Shiiiiiizzzz… I haz so tired! We worked 15hrs in the garden this weekend. It was quite a demanding chore but the results are totally worth it!!

The front and backyard don’t look like piles of dirt and twigs anymore. Thank goodness for my awesome-sauce helper garden gnome! *hugsssss

Garden finished in the backyard finally! Phew good job team!!
