Sure it’s not very comfortable as is… but…If you build it over padding or a nold slipperyour feet won’t hurt as much. Perhaps you can incorporate cardboard into the design. If you make boots you can seal the side with packing tape or more duct tape. Lol.
I might use this method to build a pair of Kouen shoe covers.
It’s not very attractive but in a time & budget pinch… it’s better than going barefoot or in sneakers.
